WHAT IS PROPANE?

Propane is a by-product of natural gas and petroleum, which occurs naturally during natural gas processing and domestic oil refining. Propane is also referred to as liquefied petroleum gas, LPG or LP gas. Propane is called autogas when it is used as an engine fuel. It offers a lower cost than gasoline and diesel fuels making it economical; and propane autogas vehicles run significantly cleaner than gasoline vehicles.

SAVE UP TO 50% ON FUEL COSTS!

Clean Autogas Solutions (CAS) is a distributor and installer of Autogas (propane or LPG) bi-fuel systems for a variety of vehicles. We are dedicated to providing advanced alternative fuel technologies that are designed to work within the realities of today’s developing infrastructure. The use of Autogas will help you achieve the goals of both fiscal and community responsibility. Everyone wants to be more responsible today. Utilizing our system, you can operate vehicles that provide cost savings and reduced maintenance costs; all while reducing harmful emissions by as much as 80%.

BENEFITS OF PROPANE:

Historically, propane autogas costs about two dollars less per gallon than gasoline and diesel, providing substantial fuel cost savings. Fleets using autogas can also receive a $.50 per gallon alternative fuel federal tax credit, which was recently renewed by Congress.

Since propane autogas is a cleaner burning fuel than gasoline or diesel, propane autogas vehicles require fewer oil and filter changes, reduced maintenance costs and less associated service downtime. Propane autogas vehicles also have increased engine life. Vehicles operating on propane autogas see reduction in fuel costs of up to 40% taking into account actual fuel price savings and tax incentives.

Propane autogas is a clean burning fuel listed in the Clean Air Act (1990) and the Energy Policy Act (1992). Propane autogas vehicles run significantly cleaner than gasoline vehicles, making propane autogas an ideal fuel to help organizations meet stringent national, state and municipal environmental regulations. Propane autogas vehicles emit fewer harmful emissions than gasoline vehicles.

Propane autogas has one of the lowest on-site emission rates of any major energy source, and it produces significantly lower emissions than gasoline, diesel and electricity on a per-Btu basis.

According to the US Department of Energy, “Typically in fleet applications, propane costs less than gasoline and offers a comparable driving range to conventional fuel.”Propane is also popular because of the lower maintenance costs for high-mileage vehicles. Propane has high octane and low-carbon and oil-contamination characteristics, resulting in greater engine life than conventional gasoline engines. The fuel's mixture of propane and air is completely gaseous; therefore there are fewer cold start problems than with liquid fuel.

You can expect the same torque, horsepower and drivability you get from a gasoline-powered vehicle.

Available & Reliable

Propane autogas technology is proven and available now. As the number one alternative fuel in the world, autogas powers more than 18 million vehicles around the globe. Propane fuel types are produced here in the United States and Canada, lessening our dependence on foreign fuel production.

According to the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), there are more than 270,000 propane vehicles on the roads in the United States. Many are used in fleets, including light and heavy-duty trucks, buses, taxi cabs, police cars, and rental and delivery vehicles.

Clean Autogas

Compared to other alternative fuels and advanced technology vehicle options, the cost of implementing propane autogas fueling infrastructure is significantly lower, and reasonably priced propane autogas OEM and aftermarket conversion options are available.

With an increasing emphasis on environmental responsibility nationwide, propane autogas fleets also benefit from green branding opportunities. These advantages include increased media coverage, differentiation from competitors, and stronger customer loyalty.
